Peter Jackson released the seventh production video for "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" today. The video gives us a 14-minute look at Stone Street Studio in New Zealand.
There is a lot of really good stuff in this video blog, and is easily the best one they have put out so far. I’ve already read The Hobbit, so I’m not worried about spoilers like I am for most films that I’m really excited to see, but luckily for any of you that are trying to avoid any major spoilers, I can assure you there is nothing in here that you need to avoid.
We get a good look at a lot of the sets, a few minutes to spend with the crew, and a quick look into the WETA Workshop. There is also a quick shot with Alan Lee and John Howell, who if any of you ever watched The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition special features, you will recognize them as the two artists who basically brought that world to life. So its great to see they are still heavily involved. And also, we get a nice cameo at the end of the video!
Check out the video and get a few more details after the break.
“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is the first in the two part series, which gets released December 14, 2012. It was also just announced by Warner Bros. Pictures that the film will get its official premiere in New Zealand on November 28th.
The series will conclude a year later, when "The Hobbit: There and Back Again", gets released on December 13, 2013.
