New Trailer for Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man"

Sony Pictures is trying to make sure that people don't forget about Spider-Man; that "The Avengers" aren't the only superheroes worthy of attention these days (okay, in some of the mythology, Spider-Man is technically a member of the Avengers, but we don't need to go into that right now). Today, thanks to Apple, the newest trailer for the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man" has been released.

This is the second full trailer released for the film (third if you count the trailer), and in my opinion, easily the best so far. It does a fantastic job of showing off more of the scope of the film, and the actual story that will be taking place. We also get a lot more action, and even a little better peak at The Lizard!

For those not wanting to take in too much of the film before its release, you might want to tread lightly with this one, as there is a lot shown in here. But if you're not that worried about it, and can't wait for another dose of everyone's friendly neighborhood superhero, then I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Like I said, I think this trailer looks great! I like how much backstory we're likely to get here, and that it seems like a much more fluid and destined evolution into Spider-Man than we got in the Sam Raimi directed films. Many fans loved Raimi's vision because it closely resembled the tones from the comic books, and while I appreciate that, having never having read them myself, I'm much more into these deeper character arcs, histories and relationships. This trailer also shows off a lot more of the fact that his web-shooting abilities are mechanical. This is no real surprise, as it was probably the earlier topic of debate with this film. Still though, I'm not sure, right now, I'm a huge fan of those sound effects when he shoots it. I do love the look of that city, though! The coloring is beautiful and I imagine it's going to look awesome on the big screen.

The film, directed by Marc Webb and starring Andew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Rhys Ifans, is set for a July 3, 2012 Release.

Official Synopsis:

"The Amazing Spider-Man" is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
