First Full-length Trailer Revealed For “The Expendables 2”

80’s action heroes assemble!!! It kind of has an Avengers feel to it, doesn’t it? You’ll have to forgive me, it’s hard not to have anything but “The Avengers” on my mind since I’m only a couple of hours away from getting to see it for the first time. Sorry I got a little off the subject, but back to “The Expendables 2”.

Today we get our first real look at all the guys doing there thing. Thanks to the media blitzing going on for “The Avengers”, I've gotten fed up with all of it, and thus avoided watching any trailers lately. It is custom for me to avoid watching anything on a film that I have a lot of hype for - for example “The Dark Knight Rises” - but I wasn’t to concerned with anything in “The Expendables 2” being a surprise. So when IGN released the first full-length trailer today, I knew I wouldn’t be able to avoid this one.

Check out the trailer after the break.

I love it just as much as I thought I would. One thing though, is Arnold just going to be comic relief in the film? I mean, come on. Maybe it's just that I can't get the full context of how the "I'm back!!!" line is used, but that line coupled with the tiny car, makes his character look like pure comic relief. I hope this trailer wasn't a complete sum up of what his character in the film is. I'm fine with comedy from him, but I still need him to be a bad-ass. If he's just in there for comedy, I will be disappointed. Other than that, everyone else looks great.

So what does everyone think, is this getting anyone else pumped up?

  1. Maybe everyone already knew this and I just wasn't ever paying attention, but it looks like Van Damme is going to be the bad guy in this then? Is that right? I mean, it's kind of the same thing they did with Eric Roberts in the last movie, I just was really expecting/hoping he'd be with the good guys. Stallone is getting closer to making that perfect movie, but he needs to realize we want everyone on the same team! Get a few more of those remaining 80's action stars for the next film, bring back Van Damme as a good guy, and have a cast of 20 guys all on the same team, taking out 'insert anything you want here'.

  2. This gets released on my birthday!
