Slackers Selection CinemaCast: Episode 10

Thanks for checking out this week's edition of the Slackers Selection CinemaCast!

This week we discuss such new releases as "America Reunion" and the re-release of "Titanic" in 3D. Also, next week's new features "The Cabin in the Woods", "Lockout", and "The Three Stooges".

Also, what we've been watching, including "Melancholia", "The Skin I Live In"', and the "Footloose" remake. And the rediscovery of "Napoleon Dynamite", and how much over-hyping a movie hurts them, even if solely out of spite.

Plus, we also discuss recent news items such as "The Mummy" reboot with the writer from the upcoming "Prometheus" attached to write the "darker" script. And "The Hunger Games (presumably) losing its director for the upcoming sequels, and how that might hurt or help the subsequent films.

Thanks for listening!

  1. Just thought I'd share my thoughts real quick on this weeks upcoming flicks.
    1. Lockout- One of the local theaters that I frequently visit here has shown alot, and I mean alot of behind the scenes clips of this movie during their pre-show advertisements. From what I've seen, I've been getting an almost made-for-tv vibe from the looks of this film. I just have never thought it looks like it will be any good. This probably won't be surprising to any of the guys, knowing my dislike for the Escape from N.Y./L.A. series, and like the guys said, this really is just Escape 3.

    2. Cabin in the Woods- I'm really excited to see this, it's getting good reviews, but I won't read them at the risk of reading spoilers. So yeah, this is what I'm definitely checking out first this weekend.

    3. Three Stooges- While I've never seen a single episode of "The Three Stooges", I've seen plenty of clips throughout my life, and even going back to my childhood, I don't think I have ever laughed once at any of their clips. It's just not my brand of comedy.
