Slackers Selection CinemaCast: Episode 44

Thanks for checking out this week's edition of the Slackers Selection CinemaCast!

What the difference a week makes. Last week saw an epic 'Cast, where we struggled to keep things under the two-hour mark. This week, quick and clean, as we come in right around 45 minutes. We held off on most awards talk, as we'll have another BonusCast in the coming days to really dig into everything. Still, we touched a bit on Sunday's Golden Globe Awards and the implications, if any, of their outcome.

As for the weekend's new releases, "Gangster Squad" and "A Haunted House", a few of us saw the first and share some opinions on that, which are mostly positive.

Next week isn't the most inspiring of weeks, but there seems to be aspects we can appreciate in all three releases, which include "The Last Stand", "Mama", and "Broken City". We run through which we'll be checking out this weekend.

We finish up the talk on a variety of short topics including Nathan's thoughts on the Academy Award nominated "Amour", Ben and Andy's reaction to last weekend's Portage International Film Festival, and back to Nathan for a recap on his best movie theater experience ever.

As mentioned above, it's a pretty efficient episode this week, so definitely be sure to give it a listen!
