Director Fede Alvarez Says No CGI In "Evil Dead"

In a recent interview with io9, the director of the new film "Evil Dead", Fede Alvarez, goes on the record by saying something that every horror fan wants to hear: "We didn't do any CGI in the movie." I don't know about you guys, but this solidifies my excitement for the remake.  I'll be the first to admit that upon hearing about the existence of this movie, I was very skeptical. After seeing a couple of the insanely violent/disturbing trailers and reading this interview, many of my previous worries have been laid to rest - Alvarez just might deliver us a remake worth having. At the very least, his heart seems to be in the right place. And his brain, for that matter.

Other highlights from the interview:
"It has a lot of blood. A lot of blood. I would come back home every day after shooting covered in blood... It is a very gory film. People had to cover themselves in plastic bags because there was blood and splatter everywhere.
Everything you will see is real, which was really demanding. This was a very long shoot, 70 days of shooting at night. There's a reason people use CG,I it's cheaper and faster. I hate that. We researched a lot of magic tricks and illusion tricks. [Like] how you would make someone's arm disappear."

It may not be a remake that we need, but this sure looks like one we've been waiting for. What do you think?
