Photo Bomb!
Thanks for checking out the latest edition of Photo Bomb!, your weekly roundup of all movie-related photos and posters floating around the internet.
Not the most content we've ever seen before, but what we do have seems of pretty good quality! We'll start with the photos, for which we feature images from films "Lincoln", "Cloud Atlas", "The Wolverine", "All is Lost", "Lawless", "Anna Karenina", "Zero Dark Thirty", and "Skyfall".
And as for the new movie posters this week, we'll take a look at some from movies like "Skyfall", "Nobody Walks", "Kick-Ass 2", "Django Unchained", "DREDD", "Looper", "Liberal Arts", "The Expendables 2", "The Master", and "Red Dawn".
So hit the jump for all of this week's content!
We start with our first official image of Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln". The film, which figures to be a major player in this season's awards races, other than Daniel Day-Lewis, also stars a bunch of other actors with three names, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Tim Blake Nelson, and Jackie Earle Haley. It will release in theaters November 16, 2012. (E! Online)
Next are some neat looking character photos from "Cloud Atlas". This ambitious project looks at various personal relationships over both time and space. The film releases October 26, 2012, and we'll get a better idea of just how successful this film will be then. The imagery definitely looks impressive so far though. (Cloud Atlas Official Website)
Here are some new images of Hugh Jackman on the set of "The Wolverine". I'm definitely digging this look. Great beard happening there. Here's hoping that director James Mangold ("3:10 to Yuma") can turn this franchise around and into something worthwhile. (SuperHeroHype)
This is our first image of Robert Redford in the personal drama, "All is Lost". Redford is the only credited cast member in the film, which revolves around him fighting for his life, lost at sea. Circles are already talking about award possibilities for Redford here. (Collider)
These are a a few new ones from "Lawless". Every notable actor in the film is featured in these photos, so no need to list out the names, but the cast is impressive. The prohibition-era action/drama will hit theaters in just a couple of weeks, August 29, 2012. (The Playlist)
Let's move right along to these new images from "Anna Karenina". This 19th century Russian dramatic tale stars Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, and Emily Watson. (Kinopoisk)
Next up, our first images of Kathryn Bigelow's latest film, "Zero Dark Thirty". The film chronicles the decade-long hunt for Osama Bin Laden after the attacks of 9/11. Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton headline a very impressive cast. Look for this in theaters December 19, 2012 (Entertainment Weekly)
And we round-out the Photos section with some new ones from the set of "Skyfall", our latest James Bond installment. First, it's two nice looking black & white behind-the-scenes photos, followed then by a few hi-res images from the set. (MI6-HQ & Entertainment Weekly)
And in fitting fashion, to start off the Movie Posters section, we stay with "Skyfall". First it's the all-encompassing banner for the film, followed by the individual character posters after. I'm really loving Daniel Craig's suit here. (007 Twitter)
This poster for "Nobody Walks" isn't anything amazing, but for those John Krasinski and Olivia Thirlby fans out there, this might be just what you were hoping for. Or, more topical, for those fans of the HBO series "Girls", the film was written by Lena Dunham. (Apple)
Next we jump to our first teaser poster for the 2013 film, "Kick-Ass 2". There isn't much to the poster here, but for fans of the franchise, just seeing an official poster should be enough to get the blood pumping. No timetable other than this first-mentioned 2013 release date as of yet. (Facebook)
Here is our newest poster for Quentin Tarantino's latest project, "Django Unchained". I was already enjoying the look of this film, and my Tarantino tolerance has been at an all-time high these past few years; but mix-in the fact that I've been fairly obsessed with Westerns lately, and this moves right near the top of my must-see list for 2012. It hits theaters December 25, 2012. (IMP Awards)
This is the latest poster for "DREDD", which puts Karl Urban in the title role. Not really digging this poster too much - looks a little too fake to me. I'm still interested to see what the film has to offer though (hopefully more than a seemingly-relatable "Total Recall"). (IGN)
Next up are two different international posters for the Rian Johnson-directed "Looper". This sci-fi/action time-travel film stars Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. This comes out September 28, 2012, and I have quite a bit of interest in this one as well. (Flixist)
These next two are for this year's Sundance darling, "Liberal Arts". This coming-of-age drama of sorts is directed by and stars Josh Radnor, whom of which I've became a fan of thanks to the CBS series "How I Met Your Mother". I wasn't a huge fan of Radnor's first directorial effort in "Happythankyoumoreplease", but I saw the potential, and I have hope with this sophomore feature. The film also stars Elizabeth Olson and Zac Efron. (CinemaBlend)
No need to focus too much on this one since our own Nathan Hinds did a nice write-up for the poster when it released a few days ago (his thoughts on the poster are here), but nonetheless, in case you missed it, here's the latest epic poster from the testosterone-fueled "The Expendables 2". (Movie Fanatic)
This is the second poster so far released for Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming feature, "The Master". This religious-based drama stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. It will hit theaters September 21, 2012. (Yahoo! Movies)
And our final poster this week is for the remake of "Red Dawn". Interestingly, this one was ready to go back in 2009, but due to MGM's financial troubles it sat on a shelf. Timing seems to have worked out well though, as some of the films' stars like Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Josh Peck, and Adrianne Palicki weren't nearly as big of draws as they now are three years later. It should ultimately be a much bigger hit now for MGM than it would have been in 2009. It will finally get its release on November 21, 2012. (Yahoo! Movies)
So that's what we're looking at this week. Anything specifically stand out to you?
