Thanks for checking out the latest edition of Photo Bomb!, your weekly roundup of all movie-related photos and posters floating around the internet.
With Comic-Con going on over in San Diego, CA right now, I guess it's made for a fairly quiet week outside of what's being released over there. Because of such, we're pretty weak on the photos section, but do have more new posters than we've probably ever shown before - and many of these getting their release at the popular convention.
So this week, we'll feature some photos from films "Elysium", "Skyfall", "About Time", "Devil's Knot", "Grown Ups 2", "Oblivion", "Noah", and "Pacific Rim". And we'll have posters for films "Pacific Rim", "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", "The Expendables 2", "Item 47", "The Bourne Legacy", "Of Men and Mavericks", "Anna Karenina", "The Impossible", "ParaNorman", "Resident Evil: Retribution", "The Possession", and "The Dark Knight Rises".
And to top it off, we'll take a look at some images from the Darkness and Light Art Show that opened up Comic-Con the other day. Lots of cool stuff in there.

We'll start with our first image of Matt Damon in the upcoming film "Elysium". Directed by Neill Blomkamp ("District 9"), this one takes place nearly 150 years in the future and focuses on Damon's character, who tries to bring balance to warring civilizations on his home space station and the remaining few on the ruined earth. I like the picture, and Matt Damon is one of my favorite actors. Blomkamp didn't let me down with "District 9" and I don't think he will here either. I can't wait for this - it hits theaters March 1, 2013. (Bloody Disgusting)

Here's one from the set of the new James Bond flick, "Skyfall". You can see Daniel Craig in the background as Bond, but the focus of the image is on Ben Whishaw, who will be playing Q in the film. If you recall, Q was last played by John Cleese in the Pierce Brosnan installments. The film hits theaters November 9, 2012. (007.com)
The next trio of set pics (and I mean the photos from the next three films featured) might set the record for most uninteresting and standard photos we've ever seen from a trio before. We start with these three from the set of "Grown Ups 2". We've already seen some great photos of Shaq in the film, but these behind-the-scenes shots of Taylor Lautner are pretty generic. (Just Jared)
Here are three photos of Rachel McAdams on the set of "About Time". There's no synopsis for the film yet, but IMDb does list its genres as Comedy/Sci-Fi, so that's intriguing. And I do love Rachel McAdams, so that's a plus too. From the photos and title I just assumed it was about pregnancy and due dates and stuff. Maybe this will be more than that. (CELEBUZZ)
And we round out the uninspiring trio with two shots of Reese Witherspoon on the set of "Devil's Knot". The actress, who's actually pregnant in real life, will presumably be pregnant for her role in the film too. The images are probably the least movie-related we've ever featured, but like I said, it's been a slow week in the photo world. Luckily, we at least get a close-up shot with that second pic - yes, it does in fact look like a turkey club sandwich! (Just Jared)
We jump to something at least at little more interesting - though, quality-wise, these aren't the best we've seen. But we do have some shots of Tom Cruise on the set of Joseph Kosinski's next film, "Oblivion". The futuristic sci-fi adventure film also stars Morgan Freeman and Melissa Leo. It will hit theaters in July of next year. (Daily Mail)
This is the first shot we've seen from Darren Aronofsky's latest epic, "Noah". The film will recount the tale of Noah and his message from God to salvage the earth's animals before the Great Flood. The film boasts a fantastic cast that includes Russell Crowe (as Noah), Jennifer Connelly (again as Crowe's wife - "A Beautiful Mind"), Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, and Emma Watson. (Twitter)
And we round-out the photos section with a shot of some peripheral characters in Guillermo del Toro's next film, "Pacific Rim". Del Toro is setting this one up to be one of the greatest monster movies we've ever seen, continually boasting about the battles between the monsters and robots. And if anyone has the track record to back-up monster effects, it's del Toro ("Hellboy", "Pan's Labyrinth"). (USA Today)
As we jump over to the Movie Posters section, we start with the same film just referenced above, "Pacific Rim". I wish we didn't have to wait until next year for this film, but already I know it's one of my most anticipated for 2013. (Bleeding Cool)
We move next to what is surely one of the most anticipated films for the rest of the year, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". Peter Jackson picks up where he left off in his Lord of the Rings trilogy, and hops into the director's chair once again. The cast looks solid, with a lot of key members from the previous productions returning. The poster is pretty regular, but still beautiful. (Facebook)
Now if you're looking for something a little more epic for your Hobbit interests, I recommend this banner below. It was revealed at Comic-Con the other day, and though it might be hard to see here, we get a ton of great imagery and scenery from the film. Head on over to the link to the right for a beautiful, scalable shot. (Entertainment Weekly)
Next we have two new fantastic posters for "The Expendables 2". The first is a character banner with tons of guns and mayhem going on in the surroundings. I just love so much seeing all of these actors on the same movie poster! (Collider)
The second was released at Comic-Con, and already fans are drawing comparisons to various 80's action movie posters. I can definitely see it. I wish the bigger images of Statham and Crews could be swapped out with images of Norris and Van Damme, but overall, this is probably my favorite poster for the film so far. It's just pure action. Next we have a poster for Marvel's latest short, "Item 47". The film is showing this weekend at Comic-Con and stars Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford as two civilians who get their hands on an alien gun following the war at the end of "The Avengers". The only other thing I know is that the couple uses the gun for crime, and members of S.H.I.E.L.D. must stop them and retrieve the weapon. Sounds interesting and I'll be interested to watch it when it makes it's way across the internet (assuming it does). (Entertainment Weekly)
Here's a new poster for "The Bourne Legacy", which will be hitting theaters next month. I really like the stylized and simplistic look of this poster. It's nothing spectacular, but I think it's pretty neat. (Total Film)
When I tell you that there's a film coming out in October titled "Of Men and Mavericks" and that it stars Gerard Butler and Elisabeth Shue, don't get your hopes up. Alas, it's not some sort of epic war movie or anything, but a film about a surfer chasing down Northern California waves known as mavericks. The cast is nice, but I was hoping for more than surfing. This poster for "Anna Karenina" is the best thing I've seen from this production so far. It's still a costume drama, so it's probably going to be boring as hell, but at least this poster really makes it look extravagant and lavish. This one comes out in November and I can already see a Best Costume Academy Award nomination written all over this one. (Moviefone)
Next we have two posters for "The Impossible", which is based on a true story and stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as a couple who try to survive the horrific tsunami of 2004. (IMP Awards)
This is an international poster for the upcoming 3D animated film "ParaNorman". The film, which is being produced by the same studio that made "Coraline", centers around a town under siege by zombies. And the only person who can save them is a boy, Norman, who can talk to the dead. Sounds interesting, but I'm not really in love with the animation - it's not nearly as creepy looking as "Coraline" was. (IMP Awards)
Here's another poster just released at Comic-Con this year, the latest for "Resident Evil: Retribution". The imagery looks better in this than I've seen in the previous posters, but I'm just not feeling it. (The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide)
"The Possession" took a page out of "The Haunting in Connecticut" book with this poster. It's pretty much the exact same, just with a slightly different angle. I like the cast though (Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick), and Sam Raimi is involved in the production, so I'll be interested in this when it's released in August. (MTV)
We cap off the Posters section with two IMAX posters for the anticipatory release of "The Dark Knight Rises" a week from now. The first is pretty standard to the regular marketing so far - epic scale, doom and destruction, lots of blacks and reds, etc. The second is more in-line with their viral marketing ploys, and just features a black & white close-up of Bane's face. I like the second one a lot more than the first, but with all we've already seen from this film, who can really tell any of it apart? (Collider)
